Silent in Salah ("the App") is developed by Abdalla Taha. This policy explains how the App handles your data.

Data We Collect

The App does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data to us or any third party. All data stays on your device.

Location Data

The App requests access to your location for two distinct purposes:

• Finding mosques — when you tap "Find Mosque", your coordinates are sent to mawaqit.net to search for nearby mosques. This is a one-time lookup; the coordinates are not stored by us.
• Geofencing — once you select a mosque, the App uses background location to detect when you are within 100 metres of that mosque during prayer times. This is what enables automatic silencing without any manual action. Location is processed entirely on your device; it is never sent to any server.

Background location access is used solely to power the automatic mosque detection feature. The App does not track your movements, build location history, or share your location with any third party.

You can revoke location access at any time in Android Settings. Without it, the automatic silencing feature will not work, but you can still use the App manually.

Do Not Disturb Access

The App requests Do Not Disturb (DND) access in order to automatically silence your phone during prayer times. This permission is used exclusively to enable and disable silent mode at the appropriate prayer times. The App does not read, modify, or interact with any other DND rules or settings on your device.

Exact Alarm Permission

On Android 12 and later, the App requests the Exact Alarm permission to schedule prayer-time alarms with precision. This ensures silencing activates at the correct time regardless of device battery optimisation. No alarm data is transmitted externally.

Prayer Time Data

Prayer and iqama times are fetched from mawaqit.net based on the mosque you select. The selected mosque identifier and your app preferences are stored locally on your device. No account or login is required.

Analytics & Tracking

The App contains no analytics, no tracking, no advertising, and no third-party SDKs. We do not use cookies or any form of user tracking.

Children

The App does not knowingly collect data from children under 13. Since no personal data is collected from any user, the App is safe for all ages.

Changes to This Policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this URL. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance.
