Khutba for Me  ·  Last updated: August 1, 2026

Khutba for Me ("the App") is developed by Abdalla Taha. It delivers Finnish translations of the Friday sermon (khutba) from participating mosques, as text and as spoken audio. This policy explains how the App handles your data.

Data We Collect

The App does not collect personal data. There are no accounts, no sign-ins, no profiles, and no advertising. We never ask for your name, email, phone number, or location, and we have no way to identify you.

Data Stored on Your Device

The App stores the following locally on your device only:

You can delete downloads at any time from the app's settings, or per khutba from the list. Uninstalling the App removes everything it stored.

Internet Access

The App connects to our server at ataha.codes to list and download khutbas. These requests carry no personal information — only which khutba is being fetched. As with any website, our web server keeps standard access logs (IP address, time, and the file requested) for security and troubleshooting. These logs are not used to build profiles, are not shared, and are not linked to any identity.

Notifications

Notifications are off by default and only work if you turn them on. When you do, the App registers with Firebase Cloud Messaging (Google) to receive a message when a new khutba is published. This uses an anonymous device token; we do not receive or store it, and it is not tied to your identity. Notifications are sent to everyone following a mosque at once, so we cannot tell who received one. Turning notifications off in the App's settings unsubscribes the device. See Firebase's privacy information for how Google handles this data.

Permissions

The App requests only permission to send notifications, and only when you enable them. It requests no location, camera, microphone, contacts, or access to your files.

Analytics & Tracking

The App contains no analytics, no tracking, no advertising, and no third-party software development kits beyond the notification service described above. We do not use cookies or any form of user tracking.

Content

Khutbas are recorded at the mosque and translated automatically. The translation is of the sermon delivered publicly to the congregation; it contains no information about you or any other listener.

Children

The App is suitable for all ages, including a dedicated version of each khutba written for young readers. Because the App collects no personal data from any user, there is nothing for us to see, share, or sell.

Changes to This Policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this URL. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance.
